Post by BootySweat Sun Jul 24, 2011 11:13 pm

Here are some of the mods that I found to be essential (I would not go back to playing Oblivion without these)
If you would like to make an addition to this list, please reply and it will be added as soon as possible. Thanks!

All listed mods can be found on the Elder Scrolls Nexus: http://www.tesnexus.com/

Good list, but you forgot some mods:

Natural Environments: Makes the sky textures so much better, adds birds, butterflies, and corpse flies. Nights are actually dark, tree foilage is thicker, grass looks lusher, and many other improvements. Looks amazing when paired with OBGE and Quals.

Crowded Cities: Mod that adds generic NPC's to cities. They are fully scheduled, and add a lot of life to Oblivion. I mean, there must be more than 16 people living in each city right? With this mod, the streets will literally be packed in all cities. (Besides Bravil, where only around 6 NPC's were added. Bravil is supposed to be the "ghetto" of Oblivion)

Ambient Town Sounds: When you have crowded cities installed, it seems weird that everything is so quiet. This mod adds ambient noise to cities. You will hear laughter, bards singing, fights, and much more. When it turns to night-time, you will hear crickets, the occasional cough, and the footsteps of thieves.

Illumination Within: A simple mod that makes a big difference. All this does is make windows lighted at night. Very good for atmosphere.

CM Partners: Adds 50+ NPC's to various inns as companions.

These sound excellent - I accidentally deleted part of the OP, but I meant to ask for everyone's opinion on the most essential or favorite Oblivion mods.

I think this thread could be a great resource for anyone to get information about the best mods and where to download them, how to install them, etc.
