There are occasionally some amazing reduced price sales for excellent games. It seems almost every other week or so, there is an incredible deal on Steam or some other service.

Please post here to share any good deals you come across.

I will share one deal I found today:

Civilization 5 is on sale for $17 (60% off regular price)

Bad timing, the Steam Summer sale ended a while ago, and the deals were CRAZY.

Im talking all Valve games for 25 bucks.
All GTA games for 9 bucks
Just Cause 2 was 5 bucks

Bethesda didn't go to insane with the sales though, I wonder why.

Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY Edition is on sale for $7.50

    I had zero problems running FO2 with win7 64-bit.

As for FO1 - I installed the High Resolution Patch because my display is 1920x1080

    Link: http://falloutmods.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout1_Resolution_Patch

then, the color was messed up, kind of rainbow looking around the edges. I did a little research and I found out for some strange reason, the way to fix that is you have to open up your windows display panel resolution options screen

(for example, Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display\Screen Resolution )

Then you launch the game with that window open.

I have absolutely no idea how this can possibly work, but it does. It fixes that color problem.

Still runs great, so far haven't had any glitches.

What sort of issues did you have?

I only launched FO2 and started a character just to make sure it works, but I haven't started playing as I want to finish FO1 first.

Try the same trick, maybe it will work for you.

(you have to open up your windows display resolution menu, then launch the game with that window still open in the background)

worked like a charm for FO1 for me, although I have absolutely no idea why that has any effect.

There is a pretty silly game available to download for free this weekend. If you decide to buy it, the price is $4.99.

It's called Dino D-Day, and the premise is that the Nazis cloned some T-Rexes during WW2 and slapped machine guns on them. Looks like fun. And it's free during this weekend:

I think after Sunday you can't play the game anymore unless you buy it.

This seems to be a new feature Steam is trying out with indie games on the weekends. Play for free all weekend and then if you buy it you can keep it.

Really not looking to spend 6 hours to download a game and then have it taken away a day later.

Just get it. Portal is awesome and Portal 2 is coming out this year!

It's a promotion for Steam Play, which is Valve's new support for their games on Mac as well as Windows.
