The words 'hardcore' and 'casual' gamer get thrown around a lot nowadays, but it seems nobody can agree on what you would define as 'hardcore'. Unfortunately, most people assume that if you play PS3/360 and play either Call of Duty or any EA Sports game then you are instantly a 'hardcore' gamer, and if you play Wii games and not Call of Duty then you are either 'casual' or 'n00b'.
Personally, my definition of a 'hardcore' gamer (even though I hate using that word altogether) is someone who can play and appreciate a wide variety of video games and is up always up for new experiences, while a 'casual' gamer is exactly the opposite of that. So if all you play is CoD and FIFA, then you are 'casual', and if you play or are willing to play platformers, RPGs, Action-adventures, party games, puzzle games etc. then you are 'hardcore'.
Anyway, that's my definition. What's yours?
